Discount travel website, Hotwire.com, made public its list of cities in North America for March 2012 where prices of hotels, car rentals and airfares have come down. The March 2012 Hotwire Travel Saving Indicator showcases the five cities in the US where there have been very high discount travel in areas of hotel tariffs, car rentals and airfares as compared to the same last year. Tourists are guided by the indices to stretch the dollar by availing the travel discount featured in the monthly publications.
According to the president of Hotwire group, Clem Bason, with the rise in temperatures and spring vacations round the corner, the stage is set with lucrative offers and great discount travel, on locations like Southern California, Dallas and Albuquerque as far as airfares are concerned. However to avoid a rise in travel prices in summer it is advisable to plan ahead and make bookings now.
Of the top five cities that offer the most in hotel discounts, Atlantic City tops the charts with a 21 percent discount in prices. Dallas Fort Worth Area grabs the second best place in travel discount with a 15 percent offer. Reno-Tahoe, offers a 15 percent drop in prices, and Halifax and Washington D.C. bring in the rear with a 9 percent and 6 percent drop respectively.
In the car rental category Boston and Washington hold the top two slots followed by Milwaukee, Fort Myers and Albuquerque.
