It is still possible to find cheap deals on airfare to Cancun if you follow a few tips. Right now is a great time to buy, as flights to Cancun are cheaper then to other popular Mexican resorts.
The best time to buy is about 4 months in advance of your departure date. It doesn't hurt to shop a bit earlier, but airlines typically don't get serious about releasing cheaper seats on these routes until the 4 month mark. But procrastinators should not the you will not find cheap last minute seats to Cancun either. The addition of flights from select cities on low cost airlines like Spirit, Sun Country, and AirTran will also have lower prices than the legacy airlines.
